Report: Update On Karrion Kross' Status For WWE Clash At The Castle Main Event

Will Kross be added to the Clash At The Castle main event?

In his return on Friday's episode of SmackDown, Karrion Kross immediately inserted himself into the Undisputed WWE Universal Title picture, attacking Drew McIntyre before Scarlett placed an hourglass on the ring apron in front of Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.

The two-time NXT Champion is set to be pushed as a top star with Triple H in charge of creative and Kross has reportedly been positioned as the number two heel on SmackDown behind only Roman Reigns.

Despite Kross' actions on Friday, he won't be receiving a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the upcoming Clash At The Castle pay-per-view on September 3 and the planned main event is still Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio

"For Cardiff, it is still Roman and Drew and I was told, of course this could always change, but I was told it is not really going to change. They feel that has to be the match. So as far as when he's getting his shot at Roman Reigns, because obviously they're building to that, I have no idea when that will be," Meltzer said.

Should Drew McIntyre win the championship at Clash At The Castle, Kross could conceivably receive a title shot at Extreme Rules in October. If Roman Reigns retains, though, Kross would likely have to wait until Survivor Series in November since The Tribal Chief is not advertised for Extreme Rules.
