Report: Update On Nigel McGuinness Returning To WWE TV

He'll be back on TV soon...

Back on April 15, NXT and NXT UK commentator Nigel McGuinness was furloughed by WWE as part of company-wide cutbacks.

A recent report from Mike Johnson at PWInsider Elite noted the former ROH World Champion is expected to return to WWE TV soon. Johnson didn't know what the company planned to do with McGuinness, however.

New details on the announcer's return were revealed earlier today as Digital Spy's Stephanie Chase reported McGuinness will be doing commentary for NXT UK alongside Andy Shepherd when WWE's fourth brand returns. Similar to Beth Phoenix on NXT, he will be calling the action remotely from the US.

Chase tweeted: "Confirmed: Nigel McGuinness will be on commentary when @NXTUK returns alongside @andyshep. Nigel will be working remotely from the US #NXTUK."

NXT UK is set to return on September 17 and WWE recently brought the roster together and taped eight weeks of programming at BT Sport Studios in London, England. Shawn Michaels remains heavily involved with the brand and Alex McCarthy at talkSPORT revealed The Heartbreak Kid helped produce the shows remotely.
