Report: Update On Serena Deeb Amid Long-Term Absence From AEW

Serena Deeb has been on an extended absence from AEW

It’s been almost eight months since we last saw Serena Deeb wrestle in an AEW ring, with ‘The Wrestling Professor’ absent since defeating Haley J on the October 18, 2022 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation.

Since then, we’ve heard next to nothing on Deeb’s status, and a report from Fightful Select suggests that there has been no update on her status in AEW, with no sightings of the former NWA Women’s World Champion backstage, nor any creative plans discussed involving Deeb.

Deeb has been part of All Elite Wrestling since 2020, officially signing with the company in September of that year. As well as being used as an on-screen talent across AEW and Ring of Honor, Deeb has also been involved in AEW in a coaching capacity, revealing in late 2021 that she had taken up backstage responsibilities in the organisation.

No reasons have been given for Deeb’s absence, with many believing the veteran is hurt. Again, nothing has been confirmed either way, so we’ll just have to wait and see what’s next for Deeb.
