Report: Update On The Elite & CM Punk's AEW Suspensions

The Elite and CM Punk have been suspended from AEW since early September

We are over six weeks removed from AEW All Out and the now infamous backstage brawl between CM Punk, Ace Steel, and The Elite, with all parties immediately suspended from the company as a result of the fracas.

Since the suspensions were issued, there have been few updates on the status of all involved due to ongoing investigations and possible legal proceedings, but with AEW relieving Ace Steel of his duties earlier this week could we be closer to finding out about CM Punk and The Elite’s futures in the company?

A report from Fightful Select states that Tuesday, October 18 was the first time they’d heard anything regarding movement or optimism on potential returns, and although the report states that the messages were ‘vague’, there has reportedly been increased contact between AEW and the parties involved with the brawl.

On the special Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite, there were notable mentions of The Elite on commentary, whilst CM Punk was shown in a montage highlighting past Ring of Honor Champions, and The Young Bucks were shown in a commercial for Rampage. These instances are notable as there has been practically zero mention of either since All Out, with all shots of The Elite and Punk removed from the Dynamite and Rampage intros, and from any promotional materials regarding upcoming AEW shows.
