Report: Update On WWE's Plans For The Hurt Business

The group imploded on Monday Night Raw

The Hurt Business imploded this past Monday on Raw, with Bobby Lashley kicking Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin out of the group.

According to a new report, the future for the duo now they are no longer associated with Lashley and MVP is a bit bleak.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has written that there is no long-term booking reason behind the split and that WWE seemed to have make the decision to split up The Hurt Business just for the sake of it.

Sadly, this likely means that Alexander and Benjamin will not be utilised by WWE going forward.

Meltzer wrote: "The Hurt Business was broken up on Raw when Lashley and MVP kicked Benjamin and Alexander out of the group...Benjamin and Alexander are also likely to be the latest victims of WWE’s breaking people up just to do so and without doing so for a feud since Lashley is just blowing both off in one match and they’re most likely going to be dead.

"Corbin showed up on Raw to help Lashley. MVP said that there is no new Hurt Business and Corbin is not a member of the team. It used to be that when you broke up a group it was because one of the guys was leaving or if you thought you could draw better with the change with the formerly aligned faction members feuding in some form. But the breakup feud will likely be Lashley squashing both Benjamin and Alexander on Raw and them fading into the abyss like the Retribution guys with that breakup (granted Retribution wasn’t getting over but the Hurt Business had been a strong stable and booked well).

"It’s like countless WWE breakups of a good act just to do it as opposed to if it will benefit people or lead to anything."
