Report: Vince McMahon Opposed No-Cut Clauses In WWE Contracts

Vince McMahon didn't want any no-cut clauses

Vince McMahon ensured he didn't have to honour the length of a WWE talent's contract.

According to Fightful Select, McMahon was opposed to adding no-cut clauses to WWE deals during negotiations in recent years. It reportedly didn't cost WWE any big signings but some did inquire about such a clause. An individual noted McMahon's opposition stemmed from the 77-year-old being stuck in his ways.

Other WWE higher-ups under the Vince McMahon regime were not against no-cut clauses and Nick Khan reportedly seemed open to the idea. Most WWE talents Fightful have spoken to were very positive about Khan and his management, noting how he thinks outside of the box.

Nick Khan is one of the top figures in WWE as Co-CEO alongside Stephanie McMahon. Paul "Triple H" Levesque, meanwhile, is WWE Chief Content Officer. The new WWE regime came into place after Vince McMahon's resignation as CEO and Chairman in July of 2022 amidst a hush money and sexual misconduct scandal. The 77-year-old reportedly intends to make a comeback despite opposition from within WWE and outside of the company.
