Report: Why Chad Gable Vs. Erik Was Cut Short On WWE Raw Revealed

Another segment meant Chad Gable vs. Erik was cut short on WWE Raw

WWE brought Monday Night Raw to Wichita, Kansas on June 12 and fans in attendance saw the latest chapter in the feud between Alpha Academy and The Viking Raiders as Chad Gable went one-on-one with Erik.

The match was ultimately kept short and Chad Gable picked up the win after 100 seconds following a Diving Headbutt and Sunset Flip pin. A future singles match between Maxxine Dupri and Valhalla was also teased as Dupri hit her first wrestling move after putting Gable's training to good use and sending Valhalla crashing to the floor with an Arm Drag.

Reports have indicated the match was originally scheduled to be longer but it ended up being cut short at the last minute. In an update, Better Wrestling Experience noted the match ended early to make room for a backstage segment with Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.

The short segment featured Balor and McDonagh offering each other advice before Damian Priest appeared and addressed his recent tension with Balor. McDonagh has been teased as a future member of Judgment Day over the past month.

The backstage segment between McDonagh and Finn Balor was originally removed from Raw but Triple H decided to add it back to the show.
