Following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view/premium live event on February 1, it was announced that Roman Reigns would be out of action indefinitely as a result of the two curb stomps he received from Seth Rollins. There is no word on when the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will be back on WWE TV.
Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE wrote Reigns off TV to keep him out of the Men's Elimination Chamber match on March 1 since he is not planned to win the match and would, therefore, need to be pinned.
WWE are still looking to protect their top babyfaces in Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes and the company will only book them to take a pinfall for a major storyline reason, Meltzer added.
While he is not on TV at the moment, Reigns will be back in time for WrestleMania 41. Reports have noted and Meltzer confirmed the current plan is for Reigns to be involved in a Triple Threat at WrestleMania against Seth Rollins and CM Punk.
