Report: WWE Agrees New Deal With Twitch

WWE and Twitch reach a deal over wrestlers streaming

WWE talent are able to stream on Twitch once again.

According to Fightful Select, WWE and Twitch have reached an agreement to allow WWE talents to stream on the platform with "almost no restrictions." The restrictions are related to talent from other companies appearing on streams, which has to be cleared by WWE first.

Revenue from Twitch streams will be split three ways between Twitch, the talent themselves and WWE. Twitch and the wrestlers will receive the vast majority of any income made.

The news has been received positively by WWE talent, who are said to be very happy about the arrangement. Wrestlers were told back in April 2022 they would be able to expand their presence to third-party platforms again but it took longer than expected for WWE to come to an agreement with Twitch.

WWE talents on the main roster previously streamed without issue on Twitch and other platforms but Vince McMahon issued an edict in the autumn of 2020 that banned talent from using third-party platforms. This prompted the likes of AJ Styles, Cesaro, and Mia Yim to shut down their accounts on Twitch and other platforms like Mixer.

Zelina Vega continued to stream on Twitch after the edict had been issued which led to her being fired by WWE. She returned to the company several months later.
