Report: WWE Believed To Have Been Interested In Bringing Back Saraya
Saraya debuted for AEW at Grand Slam 2022
All Elite Wrestling is now Saraya’s house, as the former WWE Divas Champion became All Elite at Dynamite Grand Slam 2022.
However, despite AEW bringing Saraya into the fold, a report from Fightful Select suggests that the new WWE regime could have been interested in bringing the former Paige back despite her WWE contract expiring earlier in the summer.
Talks between AEW and Saraya are believed to have taken place through the summer after Saraya’s WWE exit. Whilst the nature of Saraya’s AEW role isn’t clear as of yet, Saraya herself has stated that she’s open to wrestling again under the right circumstances, having not wrestled in five years since suffering a career-ending neck injury at a WWE house show in December 2017.
A former two-time WWE Divas Champion and the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion, since retiring from in-ring competition Saraya served as the SmackDown General Manager, and had a spell as the manager of the Kabuki Warriors, before transitioning into a role on WWE Backstage.
