Saraya Debuts For AEW At Grand Slam

Saraya is All Elite

Saraya, the former Paige, debuted for AEW during Wednesday night's Grand Slam in New York City.

Following a four-way match in which Interim Women's Champion Toni Storm defeated Britt Baker, Athena, and Serena Deeb, Baker attacked the victor, only for Jamie Hayter to run in to push Baker away. Their recent tension was merely a tease, however, as Hayter then helped her estranged friend Baker beat up Storm. Deeb soon joined in, helping her fellow heels beat down Athena as well.

Just as Baker applied her surgical glove to continue the attack, unfamiliar music played, heralding the arrival of Saraya. All the heels bailed out of the ring in shock as Saraya hit the ring, before soaking in the cheers of the crowd.

Tony Khan subsequently tweeted the standard "is All Elite" message to confirm Saraya's signing.

As Paige, Saraya reigned as NXT Women's champion and WWE Divas champion three total times between 2013 and 2014. She last wrestled in 2017, as she was forced into early retirement as a result of neck injuries. Saraya then assumed non-wrestling roles in WWE until exiting the company, effective July 7 of this year.
