Report: WWE Embarrassed By Writer Kenice Mobley's Recent Comments

Mobley recently admitted she knew nothing about wrestling

New WWE Raw writer Kenice Mobley sparked a debate this week after she appeared on the Asian Not Asian podcast and admitted she didn't know anything about wrestling and wasn't sure what WWE Champion Bobby Lashley's name was.

WWE hiring writers without prior knowledge of the product isn't anything new, but Mobley admitting her lack of knowledge openly did create a discussion.

Word of Mobley's comments quickly made their way back to WWE, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer, and the stand-up comedian was "under the gun" for speaking publicly about something WWE didn't want talked about.

The company was said to be embarrassed by the situation as it makes WWE look "blindingly stupid" to the outside world.

Mobley isn't the only one "under the gun" in the company, though, and a source noted to Meltzer that many writers are in the same situation.

Mobley was recently hired by WWE and she has a background as a stand-up comedian. She has previously appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, SiriusXM, NBC and ViceNews.
