Report: WWE High On Carmelo Hayes

In news that will shock few, WWE are high on NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes. 

In a report about his then-upcoming Monday Night Raw appearance, WRKD Wrestling noted that many backstage within WWE feel Hayes "has high potential to be a major player in the company for years to come."

Having wrestled on the indies as Christian Casanova, Carmelo Hayes signed with WWE in 2021 and he was soon pushed on NXT, winning the NXT Breakout Tournament. He then went on to win the NXT North American Title and Hayes had two reigns with the belt over 273 days between October 2021 and September 2022. 

Hayes remained a featured performer following his title loss and he defeated Bron Breakker to win the NXT Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver in April 2023. He has since turned babyface and Hayes made his main roster debut on the June 26 edition of Monday Night Raw, losing clean to Finn Balor. The match took place after Hayes once again made the save for World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
