Report: WWE Looking To Encourage Conspiracy Theories Around Roman Reigns' Contract Status

There was some talk across the professional wrestling world last night that Roman Reigns’ WWE contract was soon-to-be expiring. It wasn’t clear where these rumors came from and there were no official reports from any outlet, nor any word from WWE. However, expect WWE and Roman Reigns to stay quiet on the contract front. 

According to PWInsider, any talk and claim that Roman Reigns’ WWE contract is up soon is categorically incorrect, though they also report that WWE is more than happy to play a part in having the rumors blossom. It is noted that WWE is ‘purposefully staying quiet in order to encourage conspiracy theories’. This is due to the fact that WWE is happy with the talk, questions, and engagement, not to mention it creating more buzz and unpredictability in the upcoming Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk WrestleMania 42 Sunday main event for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Even if there was a case with Reigns’ WWE contract expiring, PWInsider stated that someone ‘with knowledge of the situation’ explained that things regarding any expiring deal would’ve been worked out by now and with plenty of time to spare. In the lead up to WrestleMania 42, reports emerged on the likely winner of Punk vs. Reigns.
