WWE WrestleMania 42 will be headlined by CM Punk's defence of the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday on April 19, and the likely winner of the match has been revealed.

A source with knowledge of the situation has indicated to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select the current favourite within WWE creative is for Roman Reigns to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Those familiar with WWE's future plans also consider Reigns winning on Sunday to be the most likely outcome of the WrestleMania 42 main event.

Should Reigns win, it would make him a seven-time world champion in WWE and see the 40-year-old hold a title for the first time since he dropped the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania XL. It would also end CM Punk's second reign with the current version of the World Heavyweight Championship after 169 days.
