Penta’s impressive performance against Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico turned a lot of heads in WWE, with it noted that WWE now sees Penta as a future world champion and main eventer. It now looks as though Penta has convinced WWE to change their upcoming plans.

On Monday Night RAW this week, Penta arrived as a last-minute replacement in a Money In The Bank qualifier, earning a spot in the matchup at WWE’s next PLE. Per a report from WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, WWE creative has gone back on their original notion of Penta vs. Reigns being a one-and-done, with the viewpoint behind the scenes in WWE being that it makes sense to book a rematch. This change in plans may have directly impacted the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match.

Those in WWE’s creative made the point that Penta was now viewed as the “heavy favourite” to win the ladder match, with a victory of the briefcase opening the door to a Reigns rematch. However, as recently at WWE’s SummerSlam 2026 PLE, this was not the plan heading into Money In The Bank, meaning that WWE’s choice for the winner may have changed.
