Report: WWE Pulled NXT's Xia Li From Kickboxing Fight

She didn't inform the company in advance...

A couple of weeks ago, Combat Night promoter Mitchell Chamale revealed on the Roman Show that WWE NXT Superstar Xia Li was scheduled to make her Kickboxing debut against Anna Housel at Combat Night Orlando on October 24.

Li ultimately didn't fight on October 24, though. Fightful Select reported WWE only found out about her kickboxing debut when the news broke online. The company subsequently pulled her from the event, which upset Li as she felt WWE "wasn't giving her respect." Other people within the company understood why they pulled her from the fight.

The Chinese Superstar has been featured on NXT TV more prominently over the past couple of months, wrestling the likes of Kacy Catanzaro, Kayden Carter and Shotzi Blackheart. Fightful Select added that Li had become frustrated after three years in the company and told Triple H directly that she felt ready to be given a chance. Xia was also adamant that she could hold her own in the ring. The Game reportedly appreciated her initiative and has ultimately been willing to give her a shot.
