Report: WWE Raw Angle Scrapped Following AEW Revolution

MJF's actions may have caused WWE to scrap a Raw angle

An incident at All Elite Wrestling's Revolution pay-per-view on Sunday, March 5 may have prompted WWE to scrap an angle that was originally planned for Monday Night Raw.

MJF found himself in hot water with AEW after he threw a drink over a child during his main event 60-minute Iron Man Match with Bryan Danielson. The child was later revealed not to be a plant and the drink in question was reportedly tequila. Some of it ended up going into the child's eye.

AEW ultimately made things right with the child, offering him and his mother tickets to tonight's episode of Dynamite and he got to visit wrestlers backstage following Revolution. Tony Khan noted during the post-Revolution media scrum that he had a "serious conversation" with Friedman about the incident.

According to Fightful Select, a wrestler was originally scheduled to throw a drink in another talent's face during a match on the March 6 edition of Raw. Some backstage believed the spot was a jibe at AEW but the angle was already planned for the show before Revolution took place.

The angle was still a part of WWE's script for Raw as of Monday afternoon and evening but didn't end up taking place. It has not been confirmed why WWE scrapped the angle but one talent theorised the segment was likely nixed because of the MJF incident at Revolution.

In other MJF news, WWE are believed to be interested in signing the AEW World Champion when his contract expires. Find out more here.
