Report: WWE Release Backstage Agents

WWE have released two behind-the-scenes names

WWE have come to terms with the release of two backstage agents, with Curtis Axel and Ariya Daivari believed to have departed the company.

A report from PWInsider stated that as of the July 8 edition of SmackDown, both had been relieved of their duties, with the remaining production team said to have been ‘extremely overworked’ as of late.

The pair were brought back to WWE sometime after WrestleMania 38, with PWInsider’s report adding that there had been a major push internally within WWE to add to to the production team after WrestleMania 38 due to the ‘insane workload and the time the company expects of the producers’.

With production members such as Pat Buck leaving WWE in the wake of WrestleMania, several names were brought in on a trial basis, such as Axel and Daivari, with Axel believed to have been offered a full-time production role sometime in June. Indeed, both Axel and Daivari had been spotted on WWE TV since rejoining the company as producers, memorably helping to break up a Cody Rhodes/Seth Rollins brawl on Raw.

The prevailing belief is the pair were released due to ‘budget cuts’, and there is no word on if either man will be brought back in to WWE at some point, nor if there any more backstage releases planned.
