Report: WWE Serious About Holding Another International PPV

WWE could well be making more trips overseas for their big shows

Talks over another international pay-per-view from WWE have intensified.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea of running a major show in Perth, Australia has "gotten more serious" and WWE officials recently travelled to the city in Western Australia. The pay-per-view event would be co-promoted by the local tourism board, similar to Backlash in Puerto Rico and Clash at the Castle in Wales.

It emerged earlier this year that WWE were considering holding a major event in Australia and it was revealed in March that talks were underway between the state government of Western Australia and the pro wrestling company.  If the show will take place in 2023 is unknown.

WWE have held stadium shows in Australia before, including 2002's Global Warning and 2018's Super ShowDown. Global Warning featured a Triple Threat main event for the WWE Title between The Rock, Triple H, and Brock Lesnar. Super ShowDown, meanwhile, featured the final singles match between The Undertaker and Triple H, six years after their End of an Era clash at WrestleMania 28.

The company has a number of Australian-born talents under contract, including Rhea Ripley, Bronson Reed, Grayson Waller, Indi Hartwell, Emma, Xyon Quinn, and Duke Hudson.
