Report: WWE Using Finn Balor To "Help Get Over" Younger Talent

Mid-card for Finn?

While Finn Balor found himself in the main event picture on SmackDown, even challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at Extreme Rules in September, The Prince has lost many of his big matches since being drafted to Monday Night Raw, including losses to Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Xavier Woods.

Balor suffered his latest defeat on the January 17 episode of Raw, being pinned clean by Austin Theory, and according to WrestlingNews.co, WWE are currently using the 40-year-old on Raw to "help get over" younger talent. The company see him in the same role as Jeff Hardy prior to the former World Heavyweight Champion's release.

Vince McMahon also reportedly only views Balor as a mid-card talent and the WWE Chairman "never saw" the former Universal Champion as a top Superstar.

A heel turn was also said to have been pitched for Balor but those discussions appear to have quietened.

While he has often found himself in the upper mid-card during his runs on the main roster, Balor was pushed prominently during his two stints in NXT and he is a former two-time NXT Champion.
