Report: WWE WrestleMania 39 Hell In A Cell Match Rushed Due To Nasty Finn Balor Injury

Finn Balor suffered a gruesome injury at WWE WrestleMania 39

The feud between Edge and Finn Balor came to an end on Sunday, April 2 as Brood Edge and The Demon clashed inside Hell in a Cell on night two of WrestleMania 39.

The match featured multiple big moments during its 18-minute runtime - including a missed Coup De Grace from the cell through a table, and an Edgecution from the top of a ladder. Edge would ultimately pick up the win with a Con-Chair-To.

There was a long stoppage during the match after Edge threw a ladder at Finn Balor, with the weapon smashing into the top of The Demon's head to leave a gruesome gash. Balor immediately received medical attention from under a towel inside the cell and PWInsider Elite confirmed the former Universal Champion was given a numbing agent before receiving staples to close the cut.

Much of the blood was hidden by Balor's face and body paint but the decision was still made to rush through the remainder of the match due to the severity of Balor's injury, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio. It is unknown how long Balor vs. Edge was scheduled to go but there was a long gap between Hell in a Cell and the main event clash between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

If Balor will be on tonight's edition of Monday Night Raw following the injury is unknown.
