Revealed: AEW's Plans For Adam Copeland

What’s planned for Adam Copeland in AEW?

After weeks of speculation, Adam Copeland officially joined All Elite Wrestling at the inaugural WrestleDream on October 1, with the ‘Rated R Superstar’ coming out after the main event to save Darby Allin and Sting from Christian Cage and crew.

During the post-WrestleDream media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Copeland would make his in-ring debut against Luchasaurus on the October 10 'Title Tuesday' special episode of Dynamite, and going forward it seems as though all roads will lead to the former Edge vs. Christian Cage.

A report from PWInsider stated that Copeland vs. Cage is ‘obviously’ in the works, and the manner of Copeland’s debut certainly suggests the two will become embroiled soon, with their last match against each other occurring 13 years ago on a May 2010 episode of WWE Raw from Toronto, Canada.

Aside from a brief reunion in the 2021 Royal Rumble, WrestleDream was the first time Edge and Christian had shared a ring since March 2011, several weeks before Copeland’s initial in-ring retirement after WrestleMania XXVII.
