REVEALED: How CM Punk Reacted To His AEW Firing

CM Punk's reaction to his AEW firing revealed

After two tumultuous years with the promotion, CM Punk was fired with cause by All Elite Wrestling in September 2023. A backstage altercation with Jack Perry and multiple confrontations with Tony Khan at All In on August 27 was ultimately the final straw and Khan fired Punk following advice from the AEW disciplinary committee.

How CM Punk reacted to his AEW firing has now been revealed, with Dave Meltzer reporting on Wrestling Observer Radio that Punk was not very upset about being let go by the promotion.

"I know he was not that upset when he was fired. I was told he was not looking to be fired, but he was not all that upset about being fired," Meltzer stated.

CM Punk spent a couple of months away from professional wrestling following his AEW firing. He then made his WWE return at Survivor Series on November 25 and the 45-year-old has since re-established himself as a top star in the company. Reports and on-screen events suggest Punk will feud with Seth Rollins over the World Heavyweight Championship leading into the Royal Rumble.
