REVEALED: How Rhea Ripley's WWE WrestleMania 40 Opponent Will Be Determined
What will be happening at WWE Elimination Chamber?
How WWE will book one of the Elimination Chamber matches at the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on February 24 has been revealed.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that Elimination Chamber will feature a women's Chamber to determine who will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women's World Championship at WrestleMania 40. PWInsider noted that Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan should be considered the favourites to challenge Ripley at the Showcase of the Immortals.
Separate reports have noted that Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch is the planned match for WrestleMania 40 and has been in the works for months. The two talents have largely been kept apart on WWE TV and have only had one televised singles match on a 2019 episode of NXT. They did have a series of matches in 2022.
Rhea Ripley has been a champion in WWE since WrestleMania 39, initially as the SmackDown Women's Champion before the belt was switched to the Women's World Championship. If Ripley will defend the belt at Elimination Chamber is unknown but the show will be taking place in her home country of Australia.
