REVEALED: When CM Punk's Current Issues With WWE Began

On the back of his multi-month absence from WWE programming, plenty of talk and rumour has surrounded CM Punk. It has been noted in recent weeks that there have reportedly been some backstage issues regarding Punk, though not as large and notable as several online rumours had suggested. 

Punk appeared on the RAW after WrestleMania 42, promising to remain around on WWE programming, before then being taken off the European Tour and remaining absent ever since. According to a recent report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has revealed that the issues regarding Punk and WWE were “traced back as starting with the loss of his title at WrestleMania."

It isn’t specifically stated that the title loss was the reason behind these alleged issues, but it seems at least problems arose around this time period. Over the last week or so, Punk teased a return to WWE during his appearance commentating for MMA with talk suggesting that Punk is planned to come back on the July 6 RAW in Chicago, plus reports revealed that WWE’s original SummerSlam plans saw CM Punk taking on Cody Rhodes with the WWE Title on the line.
