REVEALED: Why WWE Changed WrestleMania 40 Start Time

It has been revealed as to why WrestleMania 40 will start earlier

It was recently revealed (much to the joy of many overseas fans) that WWE were bringing forward the WrestleMania 40 start time from 8PM EST/1AM GMT to 7PM EST/12AM GMT, with the doors opening even earlier for those attending WrestleMania 40 live, with the show time being listed as starting at 6:30PM EST.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has stated that the start time being listed as 6:30PM for fans is likely to get everyone in the arena in time for the 7PM start. Additionally, he stated that WWE are likely going to stretch both nights of WrestleMania to four hours each, which has been commonplace the last few years, and the idea behind an earlier start time will be to ensure that the events don’t finish too late, which is a positive for all involved.

The current card for WrestleMania is looking like this:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bayley - WWE Women’s Championship
  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Winner Of Elimination Chamber - World Heavyweight Championship
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Winner Of Elimination Chamber - Women’s World Championship
