Rey Fenix has been the subject of multiple news stories over the last week, with news emerging that brother and tag team partner Penta El Zero Miedo was set to leave AEW imminently following the end of his current deal. It was reported that Fenix’s contract will stretch well into 2025 due to the injury time added on by AEW, and that there were no creative plans in place for him to be used by AEW.

This weekend, Fenix took to social media to break his silence during an Instagram live.

“There are many things that are not known, but that also should not be talked about. We must wait. Professionalism first and foremost, folks. We must not be the same as all those podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out. Never diminish our work. There are things that should always be respected, and many are forgetting everything that wrestling has given them."

Both members of the Lucha Brothers were rumoured to be on their way to WWE earlier this year, but they remained under AEW contract.
