AEW star Rey Fenix has confirmed that time was added to his current deal while claiming that he is waiting to be used by the company.
Speaking with Lalo Elizarrarás, Fenix opened up about his current situation, saying:
"Yes, basically I'm still under contract with an additional extension. I am waiting to be used, to be called to work, or to have my situation clarified a little more".
Fenix last wrestled for AEW on the July 20, 2024 edition of Collision, where he defeated Tony Neese.
Tony Khan added injury time to Fenix's contract (believed to be an additional year) after he discovered that Fenix and his brother Penta were negotiating with WWE last summer.
Penta's deal ran out and he has since joined WWE, but Khan reportedly believed that letting Fenix go would lead to other talents within AEW taking advantage of him.
In December, Fenix made references to 'inhumane treatment' via social media posts, which he subsequently deleted.
Earlier this month, Rey Fenix merchandise was pulled from ShopAEW.
