Rey Fenix To Return Soon From 'Worst Injury' Of His Career

Rey Fenix set to return soon from career worst injury

It’s been several months since we last saw Rey Fenix wrestle, with the Lucha Brother ruled out of in-ring competition since October 2023.

The All Elite Wrestling stand-out dropped the International Championship to Orange Cassidy on October 10, 2023 - less than three weeks after winning the title - due to several old injuries flaring up, and as Fenix told Denise Salcedo, he hopes to return soon:

“We are working on the recovery. It's one of my, I think it's the worst injury. But I'm taking my time. I'm doing a good job in my recovery. I put everything with the doctors. I'm following the doctor's line. I'm doing my best. And I think, I can't talk so much about -- but soon. Soon I will be in the ring, doing lucha libre, doing the thing that makes me so happy,” said Fenix.

Fenix’s time in AEW has seen the lucha sensation on the receiving end of several injuries, including a nasty dislocated elbow in January 2022. Despite such setbacks, Fenix has held the AEW World Tag Team Championships, the AEW World Trios Championships, and the International Championship during his time in the company.
