Rhea Ripley Injured After WWE's Italy Trip

WWE’s recent European tour saw the promotion head to an array of countries for Monday Night RAW, Friday Night SmackDown, PLEs, and house shows, but not everyone came out unscathed, with one of those emerging banged up being reigning WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. 

On this week’s June 12 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore on commentary made the announcement that Rhea Ripley was injured. It was noted by the pair that the WWE Women’s Champion had picked up a knee injury during WWE’s trip to Italy, though it wasn’t clear whether this injury was actually suffered in Italy or at other European house shows. Ripley defended her title against Jade Cargill at WWE Clash In Italy 2026, though in the days following she competed at live events in both France and Portugal. 

WWE noted that Ripley was currently undergoing evaluation on her knee injury, with no updates on the severity of her ailment or any time frame on when she'll be back in the mix. Reports emerged this weekend of Ripley’s planned SummerSlam 2026 opponent.
