Ric Flair: Vince McMahon Wouldn't Allow Me To Get Physical With Roman Reigns At WWE Crown Jewel 2019

Flair thought he'd be allowed to take a bump

Ric Flair has revealed how Vince McMahon banned Roman Reigns from getting physical with him during the Team Hogan vs. Team Flair match at WWE Crown Jewel 2019.

Reigns was the star in Hulk Hogan's five man team which took on a group assembled by Flair at the Saudi Arabia show two years ago, with The Nature Boy assuming that the WWE Chairman would let him take a bump after asking him to be a part of the show.

However, McMahon's mandate that Flair was not allowed to get physical stood, meaning Reigns was not allowed to hit a move on him when Flair prepared for it.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions, Flair said: "When Vince [McMahon] called me and asked me to go to Saudi Arabia, I worked out like I was going to Saudi Arabia to wrestle, right?

"The doctor said, ‘You can get knocked down, you can do anything you want. Few things you’re not supposed to do’ but fear is I got that [pacemaker] taken out. The longer it’s in, the more muscle where it’s protected, right? So Roman [Reigns] made this big comeback and I got up to feed Roman, but Vince had told him, ‘Absolutely hands off.’ I understand it but like I said, what a way to go, right?"
