Ric Flair Wants An AEW Promo Battle With MJF

Ric Flair vs. MJF coming soon to AEW TV?

A promo battle between AEW World Champion MJF and Ric Flair might be coming to AEW TV in the near future.

It has been announced that Ric Flair has signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling that also makes his WOOOOO! Energy drink the official energy drink of the promotion. Flair will be a part of AEW for at least the next two years.

Now that he is with AEW, Flair has told Marc Raimondi of ESPN that he wants to do a promo battle with MJF.

"The one thing I want to do, I want to be a heel and have a conversation with MJF. A promo battle. Let's see what you got kid. He's spot on. I don't think Tony [Tony Khan] has to worry about him leaving because he sounds like a very sincere and honest person. I think I've only met him one time. I look forward to that opportunity. He's a very talented guy," Flair said.

Flair is currently on AEW TV as part of Sting's final months as an active in-ring performer. Sting will retire at Revolution 2024 and The Icon revealed he decided to delay his retirement for Flair

All Elite Wrestling's decision to sign Ric Flair has been heavily criticised online, with many arguing that AEW have lost any moral high ground they held when AEW CEO Tony Khan repeatedly mentioned Vince McMahon's "alleged misdeeds" in October.

Ric Flair was accused of sexual assault by flight attendant Heidi Doyle during the Dark Side of the Ring episode covering the Plane Ride from Hell from May 2002. Flair is alleged to have imposed himself on Doyle and forced her to touch his genitals. Doyle agreed an out-of-court settlement with WWE following the Plane Ride from Hell. Flair has denied the allegations.
