WWE Superstar Rick Boogs has provided an update on his recent injury post-surgery.

Boogs - real name Eric Bugenhagen - was unfortunately injured in the opening match of WrestleMania 38 night one while teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura against The Usos, tearing his quad. The match continued but he played no further part in the action, which saw the Usos defeat Nakamura shortly afterwards, thereby retaining the SmackDown Tag Team titles.

His partnership with Nakamura had proven popular with live audiences, the crowd-popping double act enthusiastically cheered on by colour commentator Pat McAfee.

The injury required surgery, which Bugenhagen recently underwent in Birmingham, Alabama. He has since returned home and posted an update on his personal YouTube channel. The video largely consists of Bugenhagen rehabbing his leg while on crutches, backed by Robert Tepper's 'No Easy Way Out' - a song perhaps most notable for its inclusion on the Rocky IV soundtrack.

It's good to see that Bugenhagen has lost none of his characteristic enthusiasm despite the setback, and needless to say, we wish him a full and speedy recovery.
