Ricky Starks Has 'Speculations' About Why He Is Not Used By AEW

The saga of Ricky Starks in All Elite Wrestling took another turn with the news the former AEW World Tag Team Champion was backstage at Full Gear on November 23 having been seldom used by the promotion in months.

Such is Starks’ lack of screentime in AEW that it has become something of a running joke amongst fans, with it widely believed that ‘Absolute’ will be heading to WWE when his AEW deal finally expires. Taking to Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Starks vented his frustrations about his lack of ring time in AEW:



“It’s a mindf*** because I’m in my prime, and it sucks when you’re on such a momentum, riding the wave and doing stuff, and then to just be at home for so long… it throws you off,” said Starks.

Speculation suggested that Starks turned down creative pitches from AEW earlier in 2024, although Starks himself claims there’s no merit in such reports. However, Starks does have his theories on why he is not being used by the promotion;



“Beats me, beats me. I could have a thousand theories about what’s really going on… Do I have speculations about why [I’m not being used?] Absolutely,” said Starks.

Starks recently returned to the Indies, even appearing at a GCW show on November 23 prior to his backstage visit at Full Gear.
