Ricochet Officially A Free Agent After WWE Deal Expires

Ricochet officially gone from WWE

Ricochet is no longer a WWE talent.

Fightful Select has reported that Ricochet's contract with WWE officially expired at midnight on July 1. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion was removed from the active roster on WWE.com on June 30, only hours before Ricochet's contract ended.

The expectation within WWE and AEW is that Ricochet will be joining All Elite Wrestling at some point. Ricochet is not planned for a major match against Will Ospreay at All In on August 25, however.

It has been known for the past few weeks that Ricochet would be leaving WWE, having given his notice to the company in early June. Ricochet was subsequently written off WWE TV on the June 10 episode of Monday Night Raw in a backstage attack from Bron Breakker, during which Breakker lawn darted Ricochet into the side of a production truck before he powerslammed him through a car windshield. Ricochet was then taken away from the arena in an ambulance, with WWE later announcing he would be gone for an "undisclosed amount of time."

The expiry of his contract ends Ricochet's run with WWE after six years. He signed with the company in 2018, initially wrestling on NXT before he moved to the main roster in 2019. During his time under contract, Ricochet became a one-time Intercontinental Champion, one-time United States Champion, one-time NXT North American Champion, one-time WWE Speed Champion, and one-time Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winner with Aleister Black.
