Ricochet Reveals He Takes Inspiration From Jackie Chan In Matches

Have you ever wondered whose energy Ricochet channels when he is springboarding off the top rope, hitting 450 splashes, or moonsaulting onto a sea of wrestlers? No? Well if you were, Ricochet has revealed the surprising inspiration he finds when competing between the ropes. 

Ricochet spoke with Chicago’s Q101 to discuss how he approaches his matches, citing movie icon Jackie Chan as someone he thinks about when delivering moves. 

“I say, what would Jackie Chan do in this moment? Jackie Chan might do something big, but he might do something small here, so I really kind of plan all my matches after Jackie Chan and what he would do in that specific moment of the match.”

Ricochet discussed his different approach to individual matches, noting that he will change his style up depending on the opponent he is faced in the ring with, explaining that it makes sense to shake things up if he’s in the ring with Powerhouse Hobbs compared to when wrestling Will Ospreay. It was recently revealed that Ricochet would be taking a trip over to Japan in January to take on Zack Sabre Jr for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Dynasty.
