Luke Menzies, who has performed as Ridge Holland for the past several years, feels like he has been "hung out to dry" by WWE after the company informed him his contract would be allowed to expire on November 14, despite Holland currently being out of action for at least several months due to injury.

Menzies posted on X/Twitter:

"I never thought I'd not be able to pay my mortgage.

"I feel like I've just been hung out to dry after getting injured working for another company on behalf of WWE. Add to that my contract not being renewed knowing that I wouldn't be able to wrestle for 7 months. This is brutal.

"Yes they are taking care of the surgery and physical therapy but let's be honest, that's the bare minimum after what we sacrifice for the company.

"Plus the possibility of having to get my neck fused too.

"Talk about getting totally f*cked."

Ridge Holland was informed by WWE in mid-October that the company didn't plan to renew his contract and he would be a free agent when his deal expires. Holland is currently on the shelf after suffering a Lisfranc foot injury during a TNA taping in September, and Holland has also noted he may require neck fusion surgery.

WWE will cover Holland's rehab costs, but he will no longer be paid a guaranteed wage by the organisation after his contract ends. WWE's stance on Holland reportedly left the company's wrestlers "universally disappointed."

Ridge Holland signed with WWE in 2018 and he had runs in the company across NXT and the main roster. The 37-year-old signed a one-year extension with WWE in November 2024, accepting a pay cut of $200,000 to remain with the organisation. Holland was also not paid any extra money for working the TNA tapings as a WWE representative.
