Roman Reigns' WWE Royal Rumble Opponent Revealed

Roman Reigns will defend his title at the Royal Rumble in a fatal four way

Fans headed into last night’s Friday Night SmackDown knowing that Roman Reigns’ next Undisputed WWE Universal Challenger would be decided, as a triple threat match was scheduled between Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles, with the winner going on to the Royal Rumble PLE to take on The Tribal Chief. What fans didn’t expect was that it would be all three of them going to the Rumble.

During the number one contenders main event, Roman Reigns and The Bloodline arrived to wreak some havoc, taking out all members of the match and standing tall to close out the show. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis broke the news to Paul Heyman at ringside that these actions would lead to a fatal four way for the gold.

This is the first time during Roman Reigns’ legendary run as world champion that he will be putting his belt up against three other wrestlers at one time, adding some unpredictability to the title match. Paul Heyman would also address The Rock on SmackDown, stating that The Rock is only trying to remain relevant by calling out Reigns. The Rock returned earlier this week on Monday Night RAW, taking out Jinder Mahal and teasing a showdown with the “Head of the Table”.
