Rumour Killer On Becky Lynch WWE Contract Negotiations
False reports from a former WWE star about Becky Lynch's contract negotiations
Nov 5, 2024
Contrary to what you may have heard, WWE did not turn down Becky Lynch's salary request.
On a recent edition of The Backstage Pass, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman was discussing Lynch's WWE absence, when he said:
"Roman’s at that 15-20 million mark, and TKO doesn't want to pay anybody. […] Then you got Cody Rhodes, who's making 10-15 reportedly. Then Seth, who is her [Becky Lynch] better half, he's probably in that three to seven million range. So reportedly, she was asking for over two million a year. […] They didn't do it..[...] If they paid her, she'd be on the show. And they're desperate for females right now". According to a report from Fightful Select, not only did WWE not turn down the $2 million figure, but they would have jumped at the number if that's what she was asking for.
Fightful's report noted that the pay scale for top talent in both WWE and AEW is well beyond that at this point and that Lynch's contract would be for significantly more (were she to sign one).
The 37-year-old officially became a free agent when her WWE contract expired on June 1. Despite this, she is reportedly still listed on WWE's internal roster.
Fightful's report stressed that WWE and Lynch are on good terms and that the company is respecting her decision to take time off.
