Sammy Guevara has been out of action since October 2 when a match against Serpentico was ended via referee’s decision. It was believed that Guevara had suffered from a concussion in the match, leading to the match being thrown out. During a diving cutter attempt, Guevara was legitimately knocked out in the match and stretchered away from the ring, leading to this supposed concussion, though nothing was confirmed. This match was subsequently not aired on HonorClub.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Guevara was cleared to compete, so expect a return to be imminent. It has been a stop-start year in 2024 for Guevara, who was suspended for several months after an incident in a match with Jeff Hardy, where Guevara continued performing moves on a clearly injured opponent, ignoring the company’s concussion protocols.

He returned in July, performing regularly on the Ring Of Honor brand and going on to become one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions alongside Dustin Rhodes. He has also competed sporadically on AEW programming, though his focus has remained mostly on ROH’s tag division. It was reported that his return to ROH came due to creative disagreements about turning heel, so the decision was made for him to babyface in ROH.
