Samoa Joe is an icon of TNA Wrestling, joining the promotion back in 2005, carving out a timeless Hall Of Fame legacy over the next 10 years where he would win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, X-Division Champion, World Tag Team Titles, and several other accomplishments over the years too. If anyone is qualified to provide an official Mt. Rushmore of TNA stars, then it is Samoa Joe.
In an interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Samoa Joe gave his rundown on his own personal TNA quartet - AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Abyss and Jeff Jarrett, explaining that Jarrett needed to be there for starting TNA in the first place. He elaborated more on the importance of Abyss in TNA.
“A lot of people don’t realize the amount of physical punishment and hurt and pain and effort that Abyss put into a lot of the matches to make them happen. I think he’s one of those underrated guys in the TNA lore. He really, really is.”
Joe also revealed his timeframe for retirement in the interview, eyeing up hanging up the boots over the next couple of years. Joe recently led The Opps on AEW Dynamite to take on The Death Riders, before getting into it with Max Caster after the show went off air.
