Samoa Joe Makes ROH History

ROH history once again made by Samoa Joe

To many, Samoa Joe is Ring of Honor, with the 'Samoan Submission Machine’s early 2000s run in the indie promotion putting the company on the map.

Joe returned to ROH for a third time at Supercard of Honor XV in April 2022, and would defeat Minoru Suzuki for the ROH World Television Championship less than two weeks after his return.

Samoa Joe is still the reigning ‘King of Television’, and has now entered the ROH history books as having the longest single Television Championship reign in title history, holding the belt for over 568 days. The previous record was set by Jay Lethal, who held the strap for 567 days from April 2014 until October 2015. Lethal still has the longest combined reign in ROH TV title history, having held the belt for 798 days across two reigns.

Joe also stands as having the single longest reign as Ring of Honor World Champion, holding the belt for 645 days from March 2003 until December 2004. Again, only Jay Lethal has more combined days with the belt with 707 days as champion across two reigns.
