Santino Marella Open To In-Ring Return In IMPACT Wrestling

There has been talk of Santino wrestling on special occasions

Recent IMPACT Wrestling acquisition Santino Marella is open to a return to the ring.

Santino debuted at IMPACT's Hard to Kill pay-per-view as the Director of Authority, filling in for Scott D'Amore (who had been taken out by Bully Ray a couple of weeks prior).

Though he will primarily act as an authority figure, there has already been talk that Marella could wrestle for the company, too.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, the Milan Miracle said:

"Well actually, so, you know, the talk is I'll try and wrestle maybe quarterly. Special matches, that Jerry Lawler schedule, wrestling a few matches a year. See what the body can do but mostly, funny backstage pre-tapes, some in-ring promos, all that kind of stuff. A lot of interactions with superstars and trying to make them laugh and try to pop them. It's fun, it's a lot of fun. The creative juices are flowing and a lot of the writers here, they're looking forward to writing comedy that's gonna be executed properly and there's a really good energy here right now".

The former Intercontinental Champion has wrestled infrequently since undergoing major neck surgery in 2014.
