Saraya’s run in All Elite Wrestling certainly had its fair share of ups and downs, with Saraya herself admitting her in-ring performances frustrated her.

After a five-year hiatus due to neck injury, Saraya made her AEW debut at Grand Slam 2022 to a rapturous reception, before defeating Britt Baker in her in-ring debut at Full Gear 2022. The highlight of Saraya’s run was her AEW Women’s World Championship win at All In London 2023, but during a conversation with MuscleManMalcolm, Saraya admitted she needs to step back and refocus on training after feeling frustrated by her in-ring performances since her return:

“If I do wrestle again, I’m gonna take this year to step outside of it,” Saraya said, before revealing her plans to refocus and retrain “I will be going to Natty’s [Natalya Neidhart’s] training school getting some reps under me so then when I do come back, I’m back to being how I wrestled before because I felt like I wasn’t giving it my entire all these past couple of years.”

Saraya continued, “I know that I was frustrated with myself. I know I could be better than that. So I’m gonna go back and, like, relearn my life again.”

Currently a free agent after exiting AEW in March 2025, Saraya has been linked with a potential return to WWE, although no contact has reportedly been made by either side.
