Saraya 'Taking A Little Break' From AEW

Saraya hasn’t been seen on AEW programming since her loss in an AEW Women’s World Championship fatal four way match on the October 8 episode of AEW Dynamite last month in a match won by Willow Nightingale. It was revealed recently that Saraya had re-signed with AEW, agreeing to a one-year extension, so her absence doesn’t have anything to do with a potential exit from the company.

In an interview on the red carpet of the 11th annual Reality Television Awards, Saraya was asked about her current status, to which she revealed why she was taking a break from the ring. 

“I’m in AEW now, which is All Elite Wrestling…Yeah, so I’m taking a little break right now so I can do more of this stuff again. I haven’t been on a red carpet in a minute. It’s nice to be back.”

This follows up a report in recent weeks that suggested Saraya was focusing on some outside projects for the time being. Ever since her return to the ring in 2022, Saraya’s schedule hasn’t been as strenuous as others, largely due to the nature of the injury that forced her into an early retirement.
