Serena Deeb Was Backstage At AEW Collision

Serena Deeb backstage at AEW Collision for the first time in 2023

An absent AEW star may be heading back to the promotion at some point in the future.

Fightful Select has reported that after almost one full year away, Serena Deeb was backstage at the Saturday, October 14 taping of Collision. There is no word on why Deeb was backstage but she hasn't been backstage at all in 2023 and the show wasn't in an area where she would have just been visiting.

Deeb hasn't wrestled on any AEW programming since the October 24, 2022 edition of Dark: Elevation. The former NWA Women's World Champion reportedly had a serious disagreement with AEW management and Deeb was very vocal about her AEW booking. In particular, Deeb felt disrespected over her assumption that time was being cut from her matches behind her back until she arrived in the ring. AEW management disputed this was the case and Deeb's complaints garnered her heat within the promotion.

Deeb, meanwhile, has told people she has been out of action with a serious injury and was working to get cleared.

Any issues appear to have been resolved as Fightful noted Deeb looked happy to be back and AEW management also seemed happy to see her.
