Seth Rollins' First WWE World Heavyweight Title Defence Of 2024 Revealed

The bout is set for the Day 1 edition of WWE Raw, taking place on New Year's Day.

On last night's WWE Raw, we learned the identity of the next challenger for Seth Rollins' World Heavyweight Championship.

Drew McIntyre won the night's opening bout against Jey Uso, and was later seen having a backstage conversation with Raw GM Adam Pearce. They were interrupted by CM Punk, and Drew left after a tense interaction with the recently-returned star.

Pearce then informed Punk that McIntyre will be facing Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship on the Day 1 edition of Raw. The show is set to take place on New Year's Day in San Diego, California.

McIntyre was also Seth's challenger at Crown Jewel on November 4 in Saudi Arabia, a match which saw Drew lose after refusing the help of the Judgement Day. The defeat seemed to push him closer to the fully-fledged heel persona he has recently embraced.

The champion also appeared on last night's Raw, confronting CM Punk in the ring and vowing to do anything to protect WWE from him. Punk, in turn, declared himself an entrant in the 2024 men's Royal Rumble match, and implied that if he was to win the match, he might go after Seth's title.
