Seth Rollins Vs. Finn Balor Rematch Set For WWE SummerSlam 2023

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor will wrestle once more at WWE SummerSlam 2023

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will be putting the title on the line at SummerSlam, with Finn Balor once again looking to beat Seth for the gold.

Balor threw out the challenge on the July 17 edition of WWE Raw, when after Seth Rollins mentioned The Judgment Day leader as a possible contender for the gold during an interview with Byron Saxton Balor appeared to demand a rematch, stating that he was still looking for revenge after the events of SummerSlam 2016.

Rollins said that if Balor had a grudge then they can settle it, but the title didn’t necessarily have to be up for grabs. Balor then attacked Rollins, with commentary later announcing that a title match had been sanctioned for ‘The Biggest Party of the Summer’.

The first time Balor and Rollins met in singles competition was at SummerSlam 2016 for the new Universal Championship. Although Balor would defeat Rollins to become the first ever Universal Champion, he would be forced to relinquish it less than 24 hours later, due to a dislocated shoulder at the hands of Rollins and a barricade bomb during the match.
