Shawn Michaels Names Kay Lee Ray As WWE NXT UK's 'Best Kept Secret'
She's held the NXT UK Women's Championship since August 2019
Shawn Michaels has hailed the 'unbelievable work' done by Kay Lee Ray in WWE NXT UK, describing her as the company's 'best kept secret'.
Ray signed with WWE in January 2019 and won the NXT UK Women's Championship just over six months later, defeating Toni Storm for the Title at NXT TakeOver: Cardiff.
The superstar is the longest reigning NXT UK Women's champion and WWE Hall Of Famer Michaels, who oversees the development of all NXT talent for WWE, believes Kay Lee Ray could have a similar level of success to fellow Scottish wrestler Drew McIntyre should she ever decide to move to the United States.
Speaking to Inside the Ropes, Michaels said: "Kay Lee Ray. She, to me, is probably the greatest… I think, you know, NXT UK Women’s Champion, but she’s just now… She’s the best kept secret.
"If she ever chooses to come over and come to America, and be part of the WWE from a global standpoint, I see her having the exact same kind of success that Drew has had.
"She is very, very good and she has done unbelievable work for us over in the UK and I couldn’t be more proud of her because she is an absolutely fantastic young lady."
